A Message from the President -
Welcome to the website of the Hyannis Rotary Club.
The Hyannis Rotary Club has been engaged in service work in the region for over 80 years, an enviable record of service. The motto of Rotary is “SERVICE ABOVE SELF”, and the projects sponsored and funded by the Club bear testimony to our belief in the spirit of Rotary International.
The Hyannis Rotary Club has a number of on-going and recently completed projects including:
- Meals on Wheels delivery to local seniors
- Daffodils delivered to residents of nursing homes
- Mini golf course construction at the YMCA Camp Lyndon
- Scholarships to high school and Community College students
- Reading is Fundamental in the elementary schools
- Music programs in the schools
- Project Bread to feed kids in the summer
- Global Polio eradication
- Hurricane Katrina relief
- Tsunami relief
- The gift of life program to help kids get life-saving surgeries
- Rehabilitation of A Baby Center in Hyannis
- Rehabilitation of a conference room at Independence House
- International project in Nicaragua
This partial list is just an example of our work. Each year we research the need here at home and around the world in order to select appropriate projects to apply funding raised through our annual efforts or by rolling up our sleeves on hands-on-projects. We encourage others in business to join us.
As professional men and women, we come together in a common purpose of SERVICE ABOVE SELF. As we work to accomplish this list of good works, we also strive for strong fellowship and friendship within our club. In other words, we also like to have some fun while we work.
We invite you to find out more about Rotary and especially the Hyannis Rotary Club. This website is designed to be a resource to club members and the community at large. If you are a member of the Rotary Club of Hyannis already, I thank you for your help in this year’s good works!
Yours in Rotary,
David Augustinho
